520			_aEl teniente David Hugh Russell Tinker (1957 - 1982) fue un oficial de suministros de la Royal Navy, designado como secretario del capitán en el destructor de clase County HMS Glamorgan durante la Guerra de Malvinas. Tinker Murió en acción el 12 de junio de 1982, poco antes del final de la Guerra cuando Glamorgan fue alcanzado por un misil Exocet disparado desde un camión por un equipo de la Armada Argentina en Stanley. Hugh Tinker, su padre escritor y profesor universitario, después de la muerte de su hijo, publicó este libro que contiene algunas de las cartas de David enviadas a su hogar y poemas de su autoría antes de su muerte.
